Cross selling occurs, where a telesales agent takes advantage of a sales situation to promote other complimenatry products or services.

A caller may call to place an order for photocopier paper.  The telesales agent is trained to promote complimentary products and may ask for details of current levels of toner or cartridges to enhance the sale.

Similarly, a holiday booking may lead to the sale of travel insurance.

All these actions generate additional revenue and improve average revenue per call.
