Direct Response Television (DRTV) is a form of television marketing, geared to provide an immediate response from customers.

Television commercials will provide a 'call to action' by displaying a freephone / toll free number throughout the advert.  This is designed to sell a product immediately.

Marketeers will identify high impact slots for their product or service which will generate the highest response.

Such company contact centres will be watching the live commercials and be resourced-up to meet the peak.
