Decision Maker Contact (DMC) is a phrase used in outbound telemarketing.

A decision maker is the account holder, the person who the company contracts with.

It refers to making contact with the decision maker and not with non-decision maker.  A non-decision maker may answer the call in the absence of the decision maker but has no authority to proceed or confirm.

The DMC rate is important in understanding overall response and success rates and is a key element of the following;

  • Calls made
  • Contact achieved with a person
  • Contact with DMC
  • Success with DMC
